Empire presents The Big Screen was run at
the O2, Greenwich, London from
12th-14th August 2011. Hosted jointly by
Empire Magazine and
Clarion Events, the three days of film showings, exhibits, shows, lectures and events brought a slice of Hollywood to London for film aficionados from around the country.
Of particular note was the special ‘007 Cars’ exhibit including Goldfinger’s Rolls Royce, Piers Brosnan’s Aston Martin DB5 from Goldeneye and Daniel Craig’s Aston Martin DBS.
Integral to the whole events was the UK premier of Paramount Pictures’ summer blockbluster Cowboys & Aliens with stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in attendance.
In association with marketing events partners SML Events, Global were asked to design and build a Cowboys & Aliens themed stand for the exhibition space. The ambitious design called for paint and lighting effects from our very own Pinewood Studios trained special effects guru and the overall result surpassed all expectations, even drawing admiration from the client’s notoriously cut-throat competition.

CeMAT returned to the Deutsche Messe in Hannover, Germany between 2nd and 6th May 2011.
Held every three years, CeMAT is the world's leading intralogistics trade fair. For 2011, the focus was on 'Sustainability in Logistics' and the show attracted over 1,000 companies from 38 countries.
A particular highlight for Global was the new double deck stand we built for Interfit. Taking inspiration from American minimalist/modernist architecture and with a cool palette of high-gloss white and sky blue, the imposing structure made a bold presence in the hall despite a relatively small footprint. The stand was universally praised by staff and visitors alike and helped to ensure CeMAT 2011 was an overwhelming success for Interfit.
The materials handling industry now focuses on IMHX which takes over the NEC, Birmingham, UK between 19th and 22nd March 2013. CeMAT returns to Hannover from 19th-23rd May 2014.

Global has continued its tradition of building striking stands at Ambiente with a strong showing for 2011.
Held annually at Messe Frankfurt, Frankfurt, Germany, Ambiente is the largest consumer goods trade show in the world with over 4,300 exhibitors from all over the world (and as far away as Australia and New Zealand) and over 130,000 trade only visitors each year. For 2011, Ambiente ran from 11th to 15th February 2011.
Of particular note was the 264 sq. m all new stand Global designed under fresh contract for longstanding client, Meyer Group. We have been working with the client to develop a new design language since last summer and with a sizeable space it was fantastic to see this taken to its full potential and be seen in all its glory.
International representatives of the client lavished praise on the clean, modern, high design yet functional stand which also met with plenty of praise from their invited trade guests.
