The inaugural Empire presents The Big Screen was run at the O2, Greenwich, London from 12th-14th August 2011. Hosted jointly by Empire Magazine and Clarion Events, the three days of film showings, exhibits, shows, lectures and events brought a slice of Hollywood to London for film aficionados from around the country.
Of particular note was the special ‘007 Cars’ exhibit including Goldfinger’s Rolls Royce, Piers Brosnan’s Aston Martin DB5 from Goldeneye and Daniel Craig’s Aston Martin DBS.
Integral to the whole events was the UK premier of Paramount Pictures’ summer blockbluster Cowboys & Aliens with stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in attendance.
In association with marketing events partners SML Events, Global were asked to design and build a Cowboys & Aliens themed stand for the exhibition space. The ambitious design called for paint and lighting effects from our very own Pinewood Studios trained special effects guru and the overall result surpassed all expectations, even drawing admiration from the client’s notoriously cut-throat competition.
